Get a team
To create a section you first need a group of enthusiastic people who wish to work on the ESN idea — offering services and taking care of international students at your university. Good ways to find interested people include engaging your friends, placing an advertisement in the university newspaper, or distributing flyers.
Another great source of contacts is your university administration — especially the International Relations Office and Student Union. They know the names of outgoing and former exchange students and can help you with recruiting members.
After gathering your founding members, the next task is to contact the National Board.

It is much easier to work as a section in ESN when you have the support from your International Relations Office. Universities are usually willing to help in several key ways:

We expect that sections joining ESN work in accordance with our official principles. Please review these documents and make sure you can accept the core of ESN before proceeding.
Help and support from your National Board
To help you with creating your section, contact the Board of ESN Bulgaria. We will give you any needed advice, put you in contact with already existing sections, and help you formally become a member section of ESN.
Usually, all new sections in a country have to be approved at the National Platform — the meeting of all sections at the national level. This is another important reason to contact your national board well in advance!
Application
Once your team is assembled, your university is on board, and you have reviewed ESN's principles, you are ready to formally apply. The National Board will guide you through the application process and prepare your section for approval at the next National Platform.
After approval, your section will be officially part of the ESN network — giving you access to the full range of ESN tools, resources, events, and the global community of over 40,000 volunteers across Europe.
